Maynooth Town Football Club Guidelines |
The following are the guidelines for the conduct and the code of good practice for all Parents of Maynooth Town FC. The ethos of the Club is one of promoting sport through football and ensuring that all Parents participate to the best of their ability but mostly in a fair and sporting manner. We expect that all Parents will show the utmost respect for every other member of Maynooth Town FC, all Referees, oppositions and their officials.
We ask that all Parents read this and adhere to all points therein.
Parents are supporters not Fans. Do not criticize your or any other player before, during or after any game. Every player should be free to learn from mistakes. No Parent should enter the field of play at any stage. This includes during Team talks before games and during half time breaks. Please refrain from coaching any player during games as this might conflict with what is required by the managers. Do not abuse or confront any Referees at any Game. If any player behaves in an unacceptable way please inform the managers as soon as possible. This will be handled the appropriate way. If a player is unavailable for Training or Match please inform the managers as soon as possible as this will insure a place for someone else. If a parent is unhappy with any issue connected with this team, please contact the manager, assistant manager or parent liaison at your earliest opportunity and we will investigate, explain or discuss any issues in private with you. We do not expect Parents to remain quiet during our games this season, we in fact hope you continue to support us in the same vocal way this season as you did last season. Your participation helps your Boys/Girls try harder and play better, and a positive atmosphere always leads to a good game to watch. |
The following are the guidelines for the conduct and the code of good practice for all Managers of Maynooth Town FC. The ethos of the Club is one of promoting sport through football and ensuring that all Managers participate to the best of their ability but mostly in a fair and sporting manner. We expect that all Managers will show the utmost respect for every other member of Maynooth Town FC, all Referees, oppositions and their officials.
We ask that all Managers read this and adhere to all points therein.
All New Managers must be approved by the club before each season starts. All Managers must manage by example, on and off the field, in both football and moral standards. Act as a good role model. All managers must have an Assistant and a Parent Liaison. All Managers must develop, to the best of your ability, your skills and football knowledge in order to pass this onto your team. Each manager should have Kick Start 1 (FAI Coaching) complete. Recommended Team Squad sizes are:- 7-a-side (12) 9-a-side (14) 11-a-side (18) All Managers must report any unacceptable behaviour by players, parents, or any official of the club, to the Head Coaches. Managers should set clear guide lines to all involved with their teams, so as to insure high standards of behaviour. All teams should be encouraged to ‘Pass & Move’ and not just a ‘Kick it anywhere’ approach Safety of players and supporters are paramount. Do not get involved in any arguments on or off the pitch. Always respect your opponents i.e. actively discourage children/young players from abusing referees, officials, team mates or opponents (take off offending players). Always greet visiting teams to home games, and organise a changing room for them. Always be early for Training and Matches and be last to leave, making sure no players are left behind Make sure all players have transport to and from games. Players in small sided games (U7 to U10) must play a minimum of 15 minutes a game when named as substitute. Players in U11 to U18 age group should get minimum half a game every two games. If this is not possible, then the player should be asked about playing for the next team in his or her age group. Club transfers are only permitted during close season. The player should be first priority and not the manager. Any disputes should be referred to the head coach or Coaching, Development & Welfare Panel (Soccer Committee) All managers should have a football Kit, First Aid Kit, Balls (Ball per Player), Cones, Water Bottles, Bibs, and some common sense. Encourage participation and fun. Emphasise and praise effort. Promote the development of skills as opposed to winning at all costs. Insist on FAIR PLAY (take off offending players). Be realistic with your expectations. Work to ensure that your team performs to the best of its ability. Be aware of children’s feelings. Teach players to respect different cultures Keep the club informed on all matters relating to your team, players, finance etc. Attend all Team Managers meetings. Assist and help other teams in the interest of the club. Be committed to the standards and traditions of Maynooth Town FC Be aware and adhere to the Ministers Guidelines for Children in Sport. Support the Coaching, Development & Welfare Panel (Soccer Committee) & Executive Committee in all matters pertaining to the successful running of the club, support positively all activities arranged or promoted by the club and put the interests of the club first in all matters Respect all decisions made by the Coaching, Development & Welfare Panel Executive Committee.
